Complete HF Antenna System AKS 8010
AKS 8010
AKS 8010 is a unique, complete antenna system without compromises for the amateur bands from 80m to 10m, including the WARC bands. It has a height of 10m (32ft), needs very few space and doesn't need to be tuned.
The system consists of a triangular tower, the 5ele Log-Periodic Antenna LP5 and a rotator. It works without any traps, coils, hair-pins or phasing lines on all eight Amateur HF bands from 80 to 10m. Therefore, it doesn't age and has no changes in quality (Q). Maximum power is 3kW PEP.
The rotatable LP5 on top of the system is used on 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m and 10m and has a newly designed feeding system free of any crossing points. It is especially optimized for the amateur bands.
A the same time, the Log-Periodic is used as a top capacity for the 80m vertical radiator, which is one of the three legs of the triangular tower - a completely unique construction. The 80m vertical works like a quarter wave radiator with a very high efficiency, comparable to a 20m (64ft) high full-size vertical!

The second leg of the mast is used as a full-size quarter wave vertical radiator for 40m, the third leg as a full-size quarter wave vertical radiator for 30m.

The complete, only 10m (32ft) high system requires no permanent foundation. It comes with a antenna base and an turn-over joint (hinge) which is simply knocked in the ground. The guy wires are attached to ground anchors. The ropes consist of tear-up-proof Kevlar rope (3.5mm) which is very thin and inconspicuous.
Switching between the vertical radiators (80/40/30) and the Log-Periodic (20/17/15/12/10) is done from the shack with the rotor control unit and the relais which are located at the bottom of the antenna system. All you need is one 50 Ohm coax cable (like RG213) and a 7-wire control cable for the rotor.
The vertical radiators (80/40/30) have a low resistance at the feed point to avoid damage to human beings and animals when touching the mast even while high power is applied.
The complete system - mast, rotor and Log-Periodic - weighs only 38kg (84lb.) which is lighter than many triband beams! Setup and turnover is possible even on very small properties due to the small size and weight.
This new system could only be realized by means of the aluminum-titanium technique and opens up completely new opportunities to a large number of hams on the amateur radio HF bands.
The complete AKS 8010 set includes:
5 Element Log-Periodic LP5
Triangular mast, used as Verticals
Yaesu G-450 XL Rotor or equiv.
Switch box with relais and control
Control cable within the system
Kevlar guy wires
Turn-over base
Ground anchors
